Identifying Barriers And Opportunities For Peacebuilding Across The Border

SPADO in partnership with United States Institute of Peace (USIP) carried out a research study and initiated Pakistan-Afghanistan Dialogue initiative in which the organization engaged border communities representatives from cross sectors in identifying barriers and opportunities to peacebuilding in border sharing Pukhtoon populated regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan and developing community action plans and policy recommendations to local and national governments and the international community for building peace in the region. The project culminated in convening two conferences one each in Afghanistan and Pakistan where the policy makers, donors and both the governments were provided with the major issues identified including recommendations. It is worth to mention that some of the recommendations were already adopted and acted upon by both the governments.
